I'm an Assistant Professor in Statistics and Data Science at Northwestern University. Prior to joining Northwestern, I obtained my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Arizona State University in 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Huan Liu. Before that, I received my master's and bachelor's degrees from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT). I have also established close collaborations with Google Brain, Microsoft Research, and Amazon Alexa AI.
Research Interests
Kaize's research interests are generally in data mining, machine learning, and natural language processing, with a particular focus on graph mining/graph machine learning, data-efficient learning, and reliable AI. Meanwhile, he is passionate about developing knowledge-guided AI algorithms to advance high-impact applications in various domains, such as cybersecurity, information retrieval, and healthcare. His work has been published in top-tier conferences and journals (e.g., AAAI, EMNLP, IJCAI, KDD, NeurIPS, TheWebConf, and TNNLS), and has been recognized with several prestigious awards and honors, including the ASU Graduate Outstanding Research Award and ASU Graduate College Completion Fellowship, etc.
