Women in Statistics
Women in Statistics (WIST) has a mission to build community among all self-identifying women in statistics - including undergraduate women, graduate women, and women faculty at Northwestern. The organization to open to those within the Statistics Department as well as those who use statistics or data science, including Engineering, Mathematics, and Quantitative Social Sciences. WIST seeks to increase representation of women in the field of statistics by fostering an inclusive environment and advocating for gender equality. WIST strives to create a mentoring environment of outreach, through professional development and learning opportunities for women interested in statistics careers. WIST partners with a variety of organizations and seeks funding both within Northwestern and from external grants.
