Undergraduate Research

Department undergraduate students looking to engage in research are encouraged to contact faculty whose work aligns with their interests to learn more about potential opportunities. Majors are also urged to explore the possibility of doing an honors thesis in Statistics or Data Science.

Students interested in pursuing independent research with supervision by a faculty member are encouraged to explore resource offered through the Office of Undergraduate Research, including research grants.  Weinberg students may also apply for the WCAS Summer Grant Awards through the Weinberg College Baker Program in Undergraduate Research

Additionally, the department offers the BPF Undergraduate Research Grant Award and the Department of Statistics and Data Science Undergraduate Research Fellowship, which are undergraduate student summer research grants for Statistics and Data Science department majors and minors.
